A manuscript evaluation provides a high-level assessment of your manuscript without in-line editing. This is a good option if you want professional insight before committing to a full edit—or if you’re still deciding what kind of revision your manuscript needs.
Developmental editing focuses on the core structure of your manuscript: plot, pacing, character development, tension, and overall coherence. This service is ideal for early or mid-stage drafts where the story itself still needs shaping, strengthening, or clarification.
Line editing focuses on improving clarity, flow, voice, and readability at the sentence and paragraph level. My approach also includes light developmental insight where needed—so clarity issues don’t get polished over without being addressed. This service is best for manuscripts that are structurally sound and not undergoing major rewrites.
If your manuscript is ready but your query letter isn’t pulling its weight, I offer focused query letter reviews. This service is open to both self-publishing authors and writers who want to explore traditional querying—or simply want professional feedback on how their project reads at a glance.
With an influx in sample requests, and considering the deadlines we need to keep for our editorial clients, sample edits may no longer be requested via the form or through email. Please book a 30-minute consult with Sarah to discuss your project, project timelines, payment policies, and editorial services. From there, we can set up a sample edit and discuss the editorial booking process.
Thank you for all your support and keeping us busy!
